Lesson Overview

Despite the Tounge in Cheek reference, we are obviously talking about the speed with which your website delivers information to the people visiting the site.

On April 19, Google launched a flotilla of tools and advice for developers to keep up with the newest requirements around site speed.

If Google publically states that site speed is one of the largest influencing factors on how well your site will rank on search engines, it's probably true that the faster your site, all other things being equal, the better your site will rank.

BUT... you aren't an engineer, how are you supposed to influence something like site speed.. you look at a site, and it looks good, or it doesn't. You are unqualified to decide what goes into a fast site that makes it fast.

Have no fear, this lesson will give you the top questions to ask your web guys. If they can't answer the questions, you probably have the wrong web guys.
