Lesson 1 The Massive Mind Shift
Napoleon Hill is arguably the father of the modern business success mindset. He laid out 13 crystal clear steps to "Think and Grow Rich."
- Desire: You have to want it.
- Faith: Believe that you can achieve your goal.
- Auto-suggestion: Use affirmations to reach your goal.
- Specialized knowledge: Gain experiences and continue learning.
- Imagination: Come up with ideas and visualize your success.
- Organized planning: Take action.
- Decision: Defeat procrastination with decisiveness.
- Persistence: Don't stop until you get what you want.
- Power of the Master Mind: Surround yourself with the best.
- The Mystery of Sex Transmutation: Choose a compatible partner.
- The Subconscious Mind: Master positivity and dismiss negative emotions.
- The Brain: Associate with other smart people and learn from them.
- The Sixth Sense: Trust your gut.
We're going to touch 12 of the 13 tenets throughout every course. We leave the juicy stuff in #10 to you. However, I can tell you that your choice of partner might be the single most crucial decision of your life. As the product of more than one marriage and quintuplet father, plus two, I have some personal experience in that specific tenet.
Does Mr. Hill ever say, "you need to monitor the return on investment of every activity."?
Very interesting that so many people look to find out the specific return on investment of an email campaign, or a specific ad, or your investment in Social Media. Frankly, this attitude is bound to fail because each of those is a TACTIC and should be viewed in the context of a larger STRATEGY. Each supports the other synergistically. I think that the ROI on every action is driven by less than stellar marketers desperate to show their value to your firm, at the expense of your firm growing by focusing on the big picture.
Your firm's financial health measures your investment in online marketing over time, not this week's Return on Investment for the third ad in a series. That does not mean that performance metrics are meaningless, and it only means that the specific performance of every effort is far less important than the need to be excellent at what you do, lawyering. To be imaginative, open to new ideas, diligent, and self-disciplined.
All of this weaves its way through 3 courses and 20 lessons.
